Timothy 2

Timothy Chapter 2 KJV

Paul exhorteth to pray and give thanks for all men, for kings and magistrates especially. 4God willeth the salvation of all men. 7Paul's commission to teach the Gentiles. 8He directeth how women should be attired; 11permitteth them not to teach; 15but promiseth that they shall be saved in childbearing on certain conditions.
I aEXHORT therefore, that, first of all, 1supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in aauthority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life 1in all godliness and honesty.
1For this is good and acceptable in the sight of 2God our Saviour;
1Who will have all men to be saved, and 2to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is 1one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Who gave himself a ransom for all, ato be testified in 2due time.
1Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and 2an apostle, 3(I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
I will therefore that 1men pray every where, 2lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
In like manner also, that 1women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with abroided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1But (which becometh women professing godliness) with 2good works.
1Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
1Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
