Proverbs 2

Proverbs Chapter 2 KJV

The study of wisdom tendeth to promote godliness, 10to guard against the seducing of sinners, 20and to direct men in good and salutary ways.
My son, 1if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
So that 1thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
Yea, 1if thou criest after knowledge, and aliftest up thy voice for understanding;
If 1thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
1Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
For 1the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
He layeth up 1sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a 2buckler to them that walk uprightly.
He 1keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
1Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and 2equity; yea, every good path.
¶ When 1wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
1Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
To 1deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh 2froward things;
Who 1leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
Who 1rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
Whose 1ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
To 1deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
Which 1forsaketh the 2guide of her youth, and forgetteth 3the covenant of her God.
For 1her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
1None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
That 1thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
For 1the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
But 1the wicked 2shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be arooted out of it.
