Corinthians 12

Corinthians Chapter 12 KJV

Paul teacheth that none can own Christ but by the Holy Ghost; 4whose gifts are diverse, 7and dealt out to different persons to profit withal. 12As many members make up one natural body, so Christians in general form one mystical body: 14and as every member is equally a part of the natural body, and hath a necessary function allotted it; 27so is it with Christ's body, the church; to the individual members of which God hath assigned different gifts and offices for the general good.
Now concerning 1spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
Ye know that ye were 1Gentiles, carried away unto these 2dumb idols, even as ye were led.
Wherefore I give you to understand, 1that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus aaccursed: and that 2no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Now 1there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are 1differences of aadministrations, but the same Lord.
And there are 1diversities of operations, but it is 2the same God which worketh all in all.
But the 1manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
1For to one is given by the Spirit the word of 2wisdom; to another the word of 3knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another 1faith by the same Spirit; to another 2the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the 1working of miracles; to another 2prophecy; to another 3discerning of spirits; to another 4divers kinds of tongues; to another 5the interpretation of tongues:
1But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, 2whether we be Jews or aGentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into 3one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
1But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet but one body.
1And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
Nay, much more those 1members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
And those members of the body, which we think to be 1less honourable, upon these we abestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
That there should be no aschism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
1And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
1Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
And 1God hath set some in the church, first 2apostles, secondarily 3prophets, thirdly teachers, after that 4miracles, then 5gifts of healings, 6helps, 7governments, adiversities of 8tongues.
1Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all aworkers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? 1do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
1But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
