Corinthians 8

Corinthians Chapter 8 KJV

The preference of charity to knowledge. 4An idol is nothing in the esteem of those who have right notions of one God, and of one Lord Jesus Christ. 7But it is sin in those, who by an indiscreet use of their knowledge, in eating meats offered to idols, tempt weaker consciences to offend.
Now as 1touching things offered unto idols, we know that 2we all have knowledge. 3Knowledge puffeth up, 4but charity edifieth.
1And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
But if any man love God, the same is 1known of him.
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that 1an idol is nothing in the world, and that 2there is none other God but one.
For though there be that 1are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but 1one God, the Father, 2of whom are all things, and we ain him; and 3one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, aare we the better; neither, if we eat not, bare we the worse.
But 1take heed lest by any means this aliberty of yours become a 2stumblingblock to them that are weak.
For if any man see thee which hast 1knowledge sit at meat 2in the idol's temple, 3shall not the conscience of him which is weak be aemboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
1But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Wherefore, 1if meat make my brother to offend, 2I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
