2 Timothy 4

2 Timothy Chapter 4 KJV

1Paul giveth Timothy a solemn charge to do his duty with all care and diligence; 6certifieth him of his approaching end, and of the glorious prospect he had in view. 9He desireth him to hasten his coming, and to bring Mark with him, and certain other things: 14warneth him to beware of Alexander: 16informeth him what had befallen him at his first apology: 19and concludeth with salutations, and a benediction.
1 I 1CHARGE thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, 2who shall judge the quick and the dead at 3his appearing and his kingdom;
2 1Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; 2reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For 1the time will come when they will not endure 2sound doctrine; but 3after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 1And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 1But watch thou in all things, 2endure afflictions, 3do the work of an evangelist, amake full proof of thy ministry.
6 For I am now 1ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 1I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there 1is laid up for me 2a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, 3the righteous judge, shall give me at 4that day: and not to me only, 5but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9 1Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10 For 1Demas 2hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, 3Titus unto Dalmatia.
11 1Only 2Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
12 And 1Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14 1Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord 2reward him according to his works:
15 1Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood aour words.
16 At my first 1answer 2no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: 3I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
17 1Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; 2that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and 3I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
18 1And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and 2will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: 3to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19 Salute 1Prisca and Aquila, and 2the household of Onesiphorus.
20 1Erastus abode at Corinth: but 2Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
21 1Do thy diligence to come before winter. 2Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.
22 1The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
