Colossians 2

Colossians Chapter 2 KJV

Paul testifieth his solicitude for the churches which had not seen him, that they might be united in love, and attain a perfect knowledge of the Christian revelation, 4not being seduced from their stedfastness in the faith, 8nor corrupted through philosophy and human traditions. 9He sheweth that they were already complete in Christ, having attained the true circumcision figured in baptism; 13that God had quickened them with Christ, and both abolished the law of ordinances, that was against them, 15and also spoiled principalities and powers. 16He therefore urgeth them not to submit to legal ordinances, which were but a shadow of Christ; nor to the worship of angels, and other vain practices of human devising.
For I would that ye knew what 1great aconflict I have for you, and for them at 2Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
1That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto 2all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the 3mystery of 4God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
1aIn whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
And this I say, lest any man should 1beguile you with enticing words.
1For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
As ye have therefore 1received Christ Jesus the Lord, so 2walk ye in him:
1Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
1Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the arudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
For 1in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
And ye are 1complete in him, 2which is the head of all 3principality and power:
1In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
1Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
1And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having 2forgiven you all trespasses;
1Blotting out the handwriting of 2ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
1And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them ain it.
1Let no man therefore judge you ain meat, or in drink, or bin respect of 2an holyday, or of 3the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
1Which are a shadow of things to come; but 2the body is of Christ.
1Let no man abeguile you of your reward bin a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, 2intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
And not holding the 1Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Wherefore if ye be 1dead with Christ from the arudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
1(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
1Which all are to perish with the using;) 2after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Which things have indeed 1a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and aneglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
