Job 11

Zophar sharply reproveth Job for justifying himself: 7he sheweth that God's counsels are unsearchable; 13and that repentance is the only sure way for him to recover lost happiness.

Then answered 1Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

Should not the 1multitude of words be answered? and should aa man full of talk be justified?

Should thy alies make men hold their peace? and when thou 1mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?

For thou hast said, 1My doctrine is pure, and I 2am clean in thine eyes.

But 1oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;

And that he would shew thee the 1secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God 2exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

1Canst thou by searching 2find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty 3unto perfection?

it is 1aas high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?

The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

1If he acut off, and 2shut up, or gather together, then bwho can hinder him?

For he 1knoweth 2vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?

For avain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.

If thou 1prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;

If iniquity be 1in thine hand, 2put it far away, and let not wickedness 3dwell in thy tabernacles.

For then shalt thou 1lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:

Because thou shalt 1forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:

1And thine age shall abe clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.

And 1thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.

Also 1thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, 2many shall amake suit unto thee.

But 1the eyes of the wicked 2shall fail, and athey shall not escape, and 3their hope shall be as bthe giving up of the ghost.
