1Why 1standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
2aThe 1wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: 2let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
3For the wicked 1boasteth of his aheart's desire, 2and bblesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.
4The wicked, 1through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: aGod is not in all his thoughts.

12Arise, O Lord; O God, 1lift up thine hand: forget not the ahumble.
13Wherefore 1doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not 2require it.
14Thou 1hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor acommitteth himself unto thee; thou art the 2helper of the fatherless.
151Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: 2seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
