Psalms 142

Psalm 142 ESV

David sheweth that in his trouble all his comfort was in prayer unto God.
A Maskila of David, when he was in 1the cave. A Prayer.
1 With my voice I 1cry out to the Lord; with my voice I 2plead for mercy to the Lord.
2 I 1pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.
3 When my spirit 1faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have 2hidden a trap for me.
4 1Look to the 2right and see: 3there is none who takes notice of me; 4no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.
5 I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my 1refuge, my 2portion in 3the land of the living.”
6 1Attend to my cry, for 2I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors, 3for they are too strong for me!
7 1Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to your name! The righteous will surround me, for you will 2deal bountifully with me.
