Psalms 146

Psalm 146 ESV

The Psalmist voweth perpetual praises to God: 3he exhorteth not to trust in man. 5The benefit of trusting God by reason of his power, truth, justice, mercy, and everlasting dominion.
1Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul!
I will praise the Lord 1as long as I live; 2I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
1Put not your trust in princes, 2in a son of man, in whom there is 3no salvation.
When 1his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.
1Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose 2hope is in the Lord his God,
1who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, 2who keeps faith forever;
1who executes justice for the oppressed, 2who gives food to the hungry. 3The Lord sets the prisoners free;
1the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. 2The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; 3the Lord loves the righteous.
1The Lord watches over the sojourners; 2he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but 3the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
1The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. 2Praise the Lord!
