Psalms 56

Psalm 56 KJV

David praying to God in confidence of his word complaineth of his enemies: 9he professeth his confidence in God's word, and promiseth to praise him.
To the chief Musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, aMichtam of David, when the 1Philistines took him in Gath.
Be 1merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
aMine enemies would daily 1swallow me up: for they be 2many that fight against me, O 3thou most High.
What 1time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
In 1God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; 2I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
Every day 1they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
They 1gather themselves together, they hide themselves, 2they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
Shall 1they escape by iniquity? in thine anger 2cast down the people, O God.
Thou 1tellest my wanderings: 2put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
When 1I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; 2for God is for me.
In 1God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.
In 1God have I put my trust: 2I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
Thy 1vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
For 1thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in 2the light of the living?
