Psalms 71

Psalm 71 KJV

The Psalmist, declaring his trust in God founded on past experience, prayeth for the continuance of God's saving help, and the confusion of his enemies: 14he promiseth acts of praise: 17he prayeth not to be abandoned in the decline of life: 19he praiseth God, and promiseth to do it cheerfully.
In 1thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
1Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: 2incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
aBe thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: 1thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
1Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
For 1thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.
By 1thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art 2he that took me out of my mother's bowels: 3my praise shall be continually of thee.
I 1am as a wonder unto many; 2but thou art my strong refuge.
Let 1my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
1Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
For 1mine enemies speak against me; and they that alay wait for my soul take counsel together,
Saying, 1God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
O 1God, be not far from me: O my God, 2make haste for my help.
1Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
But 1I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
My 1mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for 2I know not the numbers thereof.
I 1will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention 2of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
O God, 1thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto 2have I declared thy wondrous works.
Now also awhen I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until 1I have shewed bthy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
Thy 1righteousness also, O God, is very high, 2who hast done great things: O God, 3who is like unto thee!
thou, 1which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt 2quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Thou 1shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
I 1will also praise thee awith the psaltery, even 2thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou 3Holy One of Israel.
My 1lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and 2my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
My 1tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for 2they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
