Psalms 88

Psalm 88 KJV

A prayer containing a grievous complaint.
A Song or Psalm afor the sons of Korah, to the chief Musician upon 1Mahalath Leannoth, bMaschil of 2Heman the Ezrahite.
O Lord 1God of my salvation, 2I have cried day and night before thee:
Let 1my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
For 1my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.
I 1am counted 2with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:
1Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou 2rememberest no more: and they are cut off afrom thy hand.
Thou 1hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.
Thy 1wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.
Thou 1hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me 2an abomination unto them: I am 3shut up, and I cannot come forth.
Mine 1eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord, I have called daily upon thee, 2I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
1Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.
Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in 1destruction?
Shall thy wonders be known in 1the dark? and thy righteousness in the 2land of forgetfulness?
But 1unto thee have I cried, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer 2prevent thee.
Lord, 1why castest thou off my soul? why 2hidest thou thy face from me?
I am 1afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while 2I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
Thy 1fierce awrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
They 1came round about me adaily like water; they compassed me about together.
1Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into 2darkness.
