Ephesians 1

Ephesians Chapter 1 KJV

After saluting the Ephesians, 3Paul blesseth God for his spiritual blessings on those whom he had chosen in Christ, and predestinated to the adoption of children; 7for our redemption by his grace, according to his revealed purpose of gathering together all in one under Christ; 11for the inheritance already obtained by those who first trusted in Christ; 13and for the Spirit given to after-believers, as an earnest of the same. 15He declareth his continual thankfulness to God for their faith, and his prayers that God would perfect them in the knowledge of those things, which concerned their state in Christ, 20whom God had raised up, and exalted to be the supreme head of his body the church.
1PAUL, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to 2the saints which are at 3Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
1Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who 2hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly aplaces in Christ:
According as he 1hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be 2holy and without blame before him in love:
1Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, 2according to the good pleasure of his will,
1To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath 2made us accepted in 3the beloved.
1In whom we have redemption through his blood, the 2forgiveness of sins, according to the 3riches of his grace;
1Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all 2wisdom and prudence;
1Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, 2according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
That 1in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might 2gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in aheaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
1In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated 2according to the purpose of him who 3worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
1That we should be to the praise of his glory, who 2first atrusted in Christ.
1In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, 2the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, 3ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Which is the 1earnest of our inheritance until the 2redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Wherefore 1I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
1Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
That 1the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you 2the spirit of wisdom and revelation ain the knowledge of him:
1The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is 2the hope of his calling, and what 3the riches of the glory of his 4inheritance in the saints,
And what is 1the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, 2according to the working of ahis mighty power,
1Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and 2set him at his own right hand 3in the heavenly places,
1Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in 2that which is to come:
And 1hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be 2the head over all things to the church,
Which is 1his body, the fulness of him that 2filleth all in all.
