Hosea Chapter 4 KJV

God's judgments against the sins of the people, 6and of the priests, 12and against their idolatry. 15Judah is exhorted to take warning by Israel's calamity.
Hear 1the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for 2the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because 3there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
1By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and ablood 2toucheth blood.
Therefore 1shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
Yet 1let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are 2as they that strive with the priest.
Therefore 1shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will adestroy thy 2mother.
¶ My people are adestroyed 1for lack of knowledge: because 2thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that 3thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing 4thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also 5forget thy children.
1As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore 2will I change their glory into shame.
They 1eat up the sin of my people, and they aset their 2heart on their iniquity.
And there shall be, 1like people, like priest: and I will apunish them for their ways, and breward them their doings.
For 1they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit 2whoredom, and shall not increase: because they 3have left off to take heed to the Lord.
1Whoredom and wine and new wine 2take away the heart.
1My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for 2the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone 3a whoring from under their God.
They 1sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under 2oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore 3your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
aI will not 1punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for 2themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: 3therefore the people that doth not understand shall bfall.
¶ Though thou, Israel, 1play the harlot, yet 2let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto 3Gilgal, neither go ye up to 4Beth-aven, 5nor swear, The Lord liveth.
For Israel 1slideth back 2as a backsliding heifer: now the Lord 3will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
1Ephraim is joined to idols: 2let him alone.
1Their drink is asour: they have committed whoredom 2continually: her brulers with shame 3do love, Give ye.
1The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be 2ashamed because of their sacrifices.
