Jude Chapter 1 KJV

1After a general address, Jude exhorteth Christians to constancy in the received faith. 4He foretelleth the punishment of certain false teachers crept into the church, and describeth their evil doctrine and manners. 20He exhorteth true Christians to persevere in the right faith, and in the love of God; 22and to seek the reformation of others. 24He concludeth with ascribing glory to God.
1 Jude,1 the 2servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of 3James, to them that 4are sanctified by God the Father, and 5preserved in Jesus Christ, and 6called:
2 1Mercy unto you, and 2peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the 1common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that 2ye should earnestly contend for 3the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men 1crept in unawares, who 2were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, 3turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I 1will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And 1the angels which kept not their afirst estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 1Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after astrange flesh, 2are set forth for an example, suffering 3the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 1Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet 1Michael the 2archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the 3body of Moses, 4durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 1But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, 2in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone 1in the way of Cain, and 2ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in 3the gainsaying of Core.
12 1These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: 2clouds they are without water, 3carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 1Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; 2wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14 And 1Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, 2Behold, the Lord cometh 3with ten thousands of his saints,
15 1To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them 2of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their 3hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 1These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; 2and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, 3having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
17 But, beloved, 1remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you 1there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 1These be they who separate themselves, 2sensual, 3having not the Spirit.
20 But ye, beloved, 1building up yourselves on your most holy faith, 2praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 1Keep yourselves in the love of God, 2looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 1And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 1And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; 2hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24 Now unto him 1that is able to keep you from falling, and 2to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 1To the only wise 2God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
