Proverbs 3

Proverbs Chapter 3 KJV

An exhortation to obedience; 5faith in God; 7humility and godly fear; 9religious oblations; 11patience under affliction. 13The excellency of wisdom; 21the benefits of it. 27An exhortation to active goodness; 29peaceableness; against oppression. 33The curse of the wicked, and blessing of the upright.
My 1son, forget not my law; but 2let thine heart keep my commandments:
For 1length of days, and along life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
1Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: 2bind them about thy neck; 3write them upon the table of thine heart:
So 1shalt thou find favour and agood understanding in the sight of God and man.
1Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and 2lean not unto thine own understanding.
In 1all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
1Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
1It shall be ahealth to thy navel, and bmarrow to thy bones.
1Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
So 1shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
¶ My 1son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:
For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even 1as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
1Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and athe man that getteth understanding.
For 1the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
She is 1more precious than rubies: and 2all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
1Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
1Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
She is 1a tree of life to them that 2lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
The 1Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he aestablished the heavens.
By his knowledge 1the depths are broken up, and 2the clouds drop down 3the dew.
¶ My son, 1let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
1So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
1Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
1When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and 2thy sleep shall be sweet.
Be 1not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
For 1the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
1Withhold not good from athem to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
1Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
aDevise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
1Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
1Envy thou not athe oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
For 1the froward is abomination to the Lord: 2but his secret is with the righteous.
¶ The 1curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but 2he blesseth the habitation of the just.
1Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
The 1wise shall inherit glory: but shame ashall be the promotion of fools.
