Psalm 147

The Prophet exhorteth to praise God for the restoration of his afflicted church; 4for his infinite power and wisdom; 6for his different treatment of the meek, and of the wicked: 7for his providence over his creatures; 12for his blessings upon his church; 15for his power over the elements; 19and for the ordinances given to Israel.

Praise ye the Lord: 1for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The 1Lord doth build up Jerusalem: 2he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He 1healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their awounds.

He 1telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

1Great is our Lord, and of great power: ahis understanding is infinite.

The 1Lord lifteth up the meek: 2he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

1Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; asing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who 1covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He 1giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

He 1delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

The 1Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

1Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

For 1he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; 2he hath blessed thy children within thee.

aHe maketh peace in thy borders, and 1filleth thee with the bfinest of the wheat.

He 1sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

He 1giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

He 1casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

He 1sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

He 1sheweth his aword unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

He 1hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.
